Outdoor Payment Terminal Installation at a Rural Fuel Service Station
Enabling 24/7 Unattended Fuel Sales at a Remote Location
Rural Western Australia
For rural fuel retailers, staffing a service station around the clock simply isn't practical or cost-effective. But customers in remote and regional locations still need access to fuel outside of standard business hours. Handy Fuel WA supplied and installed an Outdoor Payment Terminal (OPT) at a rural fuel service station, allowing the site to operate as a fully automated, 24/7 self-service facility and significantly increasing revenue without the need for additional staff.
Installing the payment terminal has been one of the best decisions we've made for the business. We're now making sales at all hours without needing anyone on site. Handy Fuel WA handled the whole installation and it has worked perfectly since day one.
Handy Fuel WA supplies and installs Outdoor Payment Terminals for rural and regional fuel service stations across Western Australia. If your site is losing sales outside staffed hours, an OPT could be the solution. We manage the full process from supply and installation through to commissioning and operator training, so your site can start generating revenue around the clock. Outdoor Payment Terminals
The client operated a fuel retail site in a rural location that served a mix of local residents, agricultural businesses, and travellers passing through the region. The site had traditionally operated during staffed hours only, which meant that customers arriving outside those times had no option to refuel, resulting in lost sales and, in some cases, customers bypassing the site altogether.
Handy Fuel WA was engaged to supply and install a Quest FastFuel Outdoor Payment Terminal, a commercial-grade unattended payment solution designed specifically for fuel retail environments. The OPT accepts card payments and processes transactions securely without the need for an attendant, making it suitable for locations where staffing is limited or cost-prohibitive.
The installation involved mounting the terminal at the existing bowser location, integrating it with the site's fuel dispensing system, and configuring the payment processing setup. Protective weatherproof canopies were installed to shield the terminal from the elements, which is particularly important in rural WA where heat, dust, and UV exposure can affect electronic equipment over time.
The system was commissioned and tested across a full transaction cycle before being handed over to the client. Handy Fuel WA also provided the site operator with training on how to access transaction reporting, manage the system remotely, and handle basic operational queries from customers.
Since going live, the site has been operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the client reporting a measurable increase in fuel sales, particularly during early morning and evening periods when the site was previously unstaffed.
